You’ve probably noticed we haven’t posted here much recently—and now it’s time to make it official. We’re taking an extended, and likely permanent, break from Gert’s Royal Replies.
I don’t write to the royals as often anymore—mainly just for Christmas—and the detailed posts on each reply were very time consuming to do. (And Sometimes hard to write as some offices send out near identical replies year after year.) Between a busy job, shifting interests and new goals, I no longer have the time to maintain this blog in the way it deserves.
We fully intend to continue with our main site, Gert's Royals... which took an exciting turn, a few years ago, to focus more on all the European Monarchies. We started a 5-year plan to create blog posts about every big annual event, all the royal honors, etc. It has become apparent that this will be a never ending "5-year plan" as progress is slow. But, we keep on.
This break will be good as we will no longer feel guilty anymore about not posting here. Or guilty about the stack of replies that sit waiting to be written about. We will still write occasionally to the royals and will always cherish and enjoy our replies.
Thank you to everyone who’s followed along, sent kind messages, or found joy in Gert's Royal Replies. It’s been a lovely chapter. And the site will remain online for people to continue to view old replies.
(And speaking of new chapters, one of my goals is to write literal chapters and finally finish writing a novel. You can follow my writing efforts at GertrudeDaly.com).
