How To

General
There are some general things about sending mail that are specific to your country (I.e stamps, where things go on the envelope, etc.). Your country's national postal service website should help answer these country-specific questions.
Sample letters/cards to the Royals:
If you would like to submit your own letter/card, email me at gertsroyals@gmail.com or direct message me on Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram. I will pick a few of the best that represent a range of styles for the more formal to informal, personal, creative, long, short, etc. And I will remove any sensitive personal information like your address, last name, (First name too if you want), etc.

  1. Do you know if they will reply if you don't live in the same country as them? I.e. sending Harry and Meghan a card from USA.

  2. Here's something that might be helpful for first time correspondents...

You should sign your card or letter with a title such as Mr.; Ms.; Miss; Mrs.; Dr., etc. I didn't include a title and signed my card simply with my first and last name and so forever with the Royals I am "Miss Christina (and last name)". I guess if you don't indicate your title on your return address and signature, and don't include a husband's name, the protocol is to assume you're a "Miss."

I should have remembered this from my secretarial training decades ago! But I'm in their database now as "Miss." That's okay, I kind of like going back in time.

  3. If you are writing a card to Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, or Archie, should you address the envelope to their parents? (For example, should the envelope for a birthday card to Prince George read the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge?)

    1. I usually address it to the parents, and that is really who you are writing to. And that is also who the reply is from.

  4. I will start to do this! I received a letter from Monaco and they addressed me as MRS (my last name) and I giggled becuause I am unmarried and only my mom goes by Mrs (my last name) and it looked so funny to see it before my name!
